Fourth Body Recovered From Korle Lagoon

Squatters at Sodom and Gomorrah in Accra, have retrieved a fourth body from the Korle Lagoon barely hours after they found the third person today. The fourth, identified only as Adam, drowned in the lagoon while attempting to escape alleged brutalities by personnel of the Army who embarked on a dawn swoop in the area on Thursday.

Adam is said to be a male trader who frequented the banks of the Lagoon to purchase commercial quantities of cow hide, popularly known as “wele” used to prepare soup and okro stew in most chop bars. Meanwhile, a search party formed by the squatters to look for others feared to have drowned in the lagoon during the raid is continuing with the exercise. The bodies of two other people who are feared drowned are yet to be identified.
