Fourth Battalion of Infantry holds Open Day

Kumasi, March 8, GNA- The Fourth Battalion of Infantry (4BN) on Monday organised a special Open Day in Kumasi as part of the programme marking the 47th independence anniversary celebration. The day is designated to bring the civilian population closer to the military.

The battalion displayed some of its basic weapons and ammunition, which included G3, M36, MG3, Carl Gustav and the 81MM mortar.

In an address, Major Kofi Attah, Officer commanding the 4BN, said the Open Day programme was started last year to bring the civilian population closer to the military and encourage students to enlist in the army after their schooling.
