Fourteen persons appear in court for murder

Sekondi, Aug 7, GNA – Fourteen persons on Monday appeared before a Sekondi District Magistrate’s Court for allegedly conspiring to commit murder and murder at Akwidaa near Takoradi.

They are Mark Ocran, student, Daniel Ocran, mason, Stephen Eshun, driver, Ransford Arthur, mason, Charles Amofa, trader, Matthew Gyedu, labourer and Joseph Essien, akpeteshie distiller. The rest are John Cudjoe, taxi driver, John Eric, akpeteshie distiller, Robert Kofi Ocran, farmer, Ala Gyimah, trader, Solomon Arthur, driver’s mate, Christopher Eshun, farmer and Kofi Gyeke, labourer. Their plea was not taken and they were remanded in prison custody to re-appear on August 21.

The prosecution did not give the facts of the case because the police was still investigating.

He said on August 4r, the accused persons conspired and murdered Francis Kwamina and Kofi Boah against the backdrop of chieftaincy dispute in the community.
