Four trapped to death in Bonsa River

Sixmillion (W/R), Jan 12, GNA – Four people in the late hours on Wednesday got trapped to death in the Bonsa River when a canon they were traveling on, capsized in between Tebrebe and Simpa Oboyaayaa Electoral areas.

The deceased include a 35 year-old cocoa purchasing clerk Sephen Anaani, Isaac Adjei, 27; John Baah, 25; and Kofie Kyei, 26.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency at Sixmillion, a cocoa growing area at Tebrebe in the Tarkwa Nsueam Assembly, the chief farmer in the area, Mr. Daniel Nutor said one Atta Sarpong, who was a victim in the incident, rushed to informed him at about 6:30pm that the canon they were using to cross the Bonsa River to the other side to inspect their drying cocoa beans, had capsized.

The chief said he quickly mobilized the youth to rescue the victims but all their efforts failed’
