Four to contest NPP primaries in Ahafo Ano North

Tepa (Ash), May 2, GNA – Four persons have filed their nomination papers to contest the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries in the Ahafo Ano North constituency.

Each of the contestants has paid the 11 million cedis required by the party.

Mr Philip Kpodo, Constituency Chairman, who disclosed this to newsmen at Tepa on Friday named the contestants as Mr Kwame Owusu Frimpong, 44, the incumbent MP, Mr Yaw Appiahene Agyei, 52, a computer engineer, Dr Henry Asumadu, 51, research scientist at the Crops Research Institute, Kumasi and Mr Benjamin Bio-Agyemang, 54, District NADMO Co-ordinator.

He said the primaries would be held in June, but said the exact date would be determined at the party headquarters in Accra. Mr Kpodo appealed to the four candidates and their supporters to avoid any rancour and bickering as they go round interacting with party members who would form the electoral college, so that whoever emerged victorious would have the support of all to enable the party to keep hold of the Ahafo-Ano North constituency seat.
