Four security officers granted 1,040 cedis bail

Tarkwa, March 18, GNA – A Tarkwa circuit court has granted a total GH¢1,040 bail for four security officers for stealing a heavy duty lorry battery belonging to Mantrac Ghana Limited at Tarkwa. In default, they will spend two years imprisonment. They all pleaded guilty.

Prosecuting Police Chief Inspector Edward Paddy told the court presided over by Mr Samuel Obeng Diawuo that the complainant Mr Felix Ofosu Kontoh, Engineer and a Spare Parts and Sales Manager of Mantrac Ghana Limited at Tarkwa, has been experiencing theft of spare parts from the company’s warehouse, which compelled him to take stock of the items in the warehouse.

The prosecutor said, the complainant conducted his personal investigations and was later hinted by an informant that it was the suspects, Bright Dagbi, 23, Issac Eshun, 24, Ahmed Ibrahim, 23, and George Pena, 49, who stole the spare parts from the warehouse. Unknown to the suspects, during the day of the incidence, the accused persons were photographed in a closed-circuit camera whilst in the act.

Inspector Paddy said, the complainant then reported the incident to the Police and the accused persons were arrested.
