Four pupils collapse at independence parade at Subin Camp

Subin Camp (Ash), March 15, GNA – Four pupils, all girls, collapsed at Subin Camp in the Adansi South District of Ashanti at a parade ground, during the 49th independence day celebration. It happened when Mr C.O. Anokye, the Circuit Supervisor for Subin Camp was delivering the President’s anniversary speech to the gathering. The four, two in primary and the others in junior secondary school, were however, revived by the teachers. The cause of the incident was attributed to the excessive sunshine.

Mr Anokye entreated the organisers of such important occasions to consider the health condition of pupils before assembling them for such functions.

He also suggested that pupils should be allowed to sit or squat, while listening to speeches at such important celebrations. The circuit supervisor asked Ghanaians to change their negative attitude towards national development, because division would not do the country any good.

Mr Anokye called on the politicians to have the development of the country at heart instead of their political interest.
