Four people to contest NDC primaries for New Edubiase

New Edubiase (Ash), May 31, GNA – Four people have filed their nominations to contest the primaries of the New Edubiase parliamentary seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). They are Oheneba Ando, a former Constituency Secretary; Mr Augustine Abletor, a Teacher; Mr Yevenyo Zighah Kofi and Mr Ernest Yakah.

Conspicuously missing was the sitting Member of Parliament, Mrs Theresa Joyce Baffoe.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency at New Edubiase on Wednesday, Mr Anthony Y. Etornam, the Constituency Chairman, said Mrs Baffoe who has represented the constituency for three consecutive times had decided to step down for others also to contest.

Mr Etornam said even though the sitting MP was not going to contest the seat, it would still be retained by the NDC, since they would not allow the NPP to wrest it from them. He said though the NPP had failed the nation and compounded the hardships of Ghanaians, Ghanaians must be patient till the December polls and vote it out of power.

The Constituency Chairman advised the contestants and their supporters to be guided by the love for their country as they campaigned for votes and not to use unsavoury language.

“Your campaigns should be fair and be based on issues and not attacks on personalities”.
