Four people remanded for stealing parts of accident vehicle

Nkawie (Ash), Aug 5, GNA -The Atwima District Court on Monday remanded four men for stealing the parts of an accident vehicle valued at 2.7 million cedis.

They are Kwaku Nsowaa, 19, Kwasi Jowuah, 20, Kwaku Bio, 22, the valcunizers and Kwaku Poku, 23, the driver.

They pleaded not guilty and will re-appear on 11th August 2003. Police Inspector Ben Antwi told the court that, last month a timber truck burst a front tyre and plunged into a valley at Srebuoso near Nkawie.

Inspector Antwi said on August 2 at midnight the four mem and the driver went to the scene of the accident and removed the brake bands and hobs of the accident vehicle.

He said on reaching a barrier mounted by the Nkawie police they were arrested.
