Four new DCEs in Eastern Region sworn into office

Mr Victor Smith, Eastern Regional Minister, has sworn-in four District Chief Executives (DCEs) in the newly created districts.

They are Mr Michael Ofori Darko, Ayensuano, Mr Derrick Ohene Assifo Bekoe, Upper West Akim, Mr Winston Kwodwo Afari-Djan, Akuapem South and Mr Kwaku Ofori Abroakwa, Denkyembuor Districts.

Mr Smith told them to learn from the challenges of their colleagues who had been in office much longer and pleaded with them not to have friction with anybody that would tend to undermine government’s efforts.

“Ensure policies are implemented properly and not allow any person to derail the course”, he added.

Mr Smith asked them to spread resources to benefit all, since they want positive change in the interest of all Ghanaians, saying “That is what the Better Ghana Agenda stands for.”

Mr Darko, on behalf of his colleagues, thanked President John Dramani Mahama for the confidence reposed in them and pledged their support to continue with the “Better Ghana Agenda” even though they had only a few weeks to work.
