Four men gang rape pregnant woman in Eastern Region

Police in the eastern region are have arrested one and are on a manhunt for three others for allegedly raping a pregnant woman at Akyem-Maase in the Eastern Region.

The suspects were said to have drugged the six month old pregnant woman with local gin ‘akpeteshie’ laced with ‘wee’ and transfer hydrocloride before having sex with her.

The victim’s husband, Dada Torso, said he returned from work Saturday to find his wife helpless and gasping for air.

According to him, upon enquiries, he was told by a good Samaritan (name withheld) that his wife had been gang raped by his own friends.

He said after lodging a formal complaint with the Akyem-Tafo district police command, and one of the suspects, 30 year old Kwaku Kumasah was arrested while the three other suspects fled.

Mr. Torso said he rushed his 25 year old wife to the Tafo government hospital after being issued with a police medical form.

The Tafo district police commander, Superintendent Isaac Dompreh confirmed the incident but failed to give details.

According to him the case has been transferred to the Eastern Regional Command for investigations.
