Four hunters died in a lorry accident in Tamale

Tamale, Feb 25, GNA – Four hunters died on the spot and 42 others sustained injuries when the cargo truck in which they were travelling run into a stationary Landover and somersaulted near the Tamale Teaching Hospital Gate on the Tamale-Yendi road on Saturday.

The hospital authorities gave the names of the deceased as one Iddrisu, Baba Sibiri and Ibrahim Abrahamani but could not immediately identify the fourth person whose head had been smashed.

Dr Henry Addo, a Senior Medical Officer at the hospital who confirmed the death of the hunters, said they died as a result of fracturing their skulls.

The accident drew a large crowd to the hospital, making it difficult for medical personnel at the hospital to attend to those injured. The hospital authorities had to call on the Police to maintain order to enable the doctors and nurses to attend to the injured. 25 Feb 06
