Four employees of Atwima Rural Bank dismissed

Foase (Ash), Nov. 30, GNA- Four employees of the Atwima Rural Bank Limited at Foase have been summarily dismissed following their alleged involvement in financial impropriety at the bank. They are Mrs Grace Nelson, Miss Margaret Donkor, Mr Isaac Toku and Mr Benjamin Yeboah.

Mr Kwabena Awuah, Vice-Chairman of the bank’s Board of Directors, announced this at the 21st Annual General Meeting of the bank at Foase in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma district. He said despite the challenges facing the bank, it had put in place measures to tighten up internal control systems, which hitherto had not been the best.

Mr Awuah said the bank lost a lot of money through embezzlement and misapplication of funds, which took greater proportion of the bank’s profit away.

He said the Directors had a lot of confidence in the bank and expressed the hope that, with the support and understanding of its shareholders and under the management, led by Mr Amaniampong Kwasi Ankoma, the General Manager, the bank would perform to the satisfaction of all.
