Four drivers fined for traffic offences

Twifo Praso (C/R), March 18, GNA – The Twifo Praso Magistrate Court has imposed a total fine of 2.6 million cedis on four drivers for various traffic offences.

Eric Nuamah, John Willie pleaded guilty for causing road obstruction and Henry Tandoh and William Kenu for over loading. Nuamah and Willie were fined 800,000 cedis each or in default serve a four-month jail term while Tandoh and Kenu were fined 500,000 cedis each or serve two months imprisonment in default The court also issued a bench warrant for the arrest of two other offending drivers, Kweku Frimpong and John Samuel for failing to appear before it.

Prosecuting Police Chief Inspector George Okine told the Court presided over Mr Joseph Blay that the drivers were arrested during a special operation by the Police and the Ghana Private Roads Transport Unit.
