Four child-care institutions receive gifts

Four child-care institutions in the Ashanti Region have been presented with assorted items valued at about GH¢ 11,000.00 in support of the upkeep of children placed under their care.

These included large quantities of baby diapers, clothes, toys and teddy bears. Asante-Mampong Babies Home, Apire Cherubs Orphanage, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Children’s Ward and Kumasi Maternal and Child Health Hospital, were the beneficiaries.

The items were joint gifts from JEM FM, a Kumasi-based radio station and Forever Baby Enterprise, dealers in baby-diapers. Mrs Vera Otiwaa-Kwabia of JEM FM said it was their contribution to efforts at helping to care for needy children.

They see it as a social responsibility and would continue to do everything they could to make things a bit better for them adding that a number of orphanages in the region had benefitted from the gesture over the past two years.

Madam Margaret Addai, Superintendent of the Babies Home, said they were grateful for the assistance and gave the assurance that it would bring comfort to the kids.
