Four persons have been butchered to death at Aflao in the Ketu South District of the Volta Region, police have confirmed.
A police officer who tried saving the situation has been left with machete wounds by the suspect who grew wild after the gruesome murder.
According to police in the area, they received information on Saturday evening that the young man in question had gone on rampage and in the process, gruesomely murdered his father and mother.
Upon the policeman’s arrival at the scene to arrest him, he inflicted multiple cutlass wounds on him at his back and arm.
He later run towards an area called power house and again butchered a small he spotted on the way.
Not satisfied with the number of murders he had committed, he murdered a certain woman called Esi and removed her heart after which he went into hiding.
Upon a tip off on Sunday morning , he was arrested and currently in the custody of the police while the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue of a health facility pending autopsy.
