Four arrested over Kasoa cocaine trade

The Kasoa district Police Command in the Central region has arrested four persons believed to be the kingpins behind the narcotic drug trade in the area.

The four namely Mohammed Sule 50, Solomon Kwaku Darko, 53, Kwabena Opoku, 21 and Hamza Abubakr, 33, were arrested at locations in Budumburam, Kasoa and Awutu Breku.

Their arrest follows a tip-off by some individuals who are obviously not happy with the activities of the four in the said communities.

High quantities of substances suspected to be Indian hemp and cocaine were found on the four which the police say were being sold to others including armed robbers operating in the area.

Some of the narcotic drugs according to the police had even being wrapped for sale to their clients when they were arrested.

The police are appealing to residents to volunteer information leading to the arrest of such suspected criminals as their presence in society places the lives of residents at risk.
