Four armed robbers remanded

Four armed robbers have been remanded into police custody by the Sefwi-Wiawso Police for allegedly possessing firearms without authority.

They are Enoch Musah, 28, a taxi driver, Salim Adam, 22, a scrap dealer, Ali Ndawudo, 27, a gold dealer and Abdul Rahaman Issah, 26, a driver’s mate.

The Sefwi-Wiawso Municipal Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police Raymond Erzuah told the GNA on Tuesday that the suspects were apprehended on Wednesday March 27, on Sefwi-Awiase highway around 0600 hours on board a taxi.

He said the police intercepted them upon a tip-off and a search conducted on them revealed a locally manufactured pistol, a foreign manufactured pistol, a knife, a military uniform, a hood, six mobile phones and 23 live ammunitions.

He said the suspects were arraigned before the Bibiani Circuit court presided over by Mr. Emmanuel Ankamah on the same day and charged them for possessing firearms without authority and preparing to commit crime.

They would re-appear in court on April 17.
