Four area councils to receive 600 million cedis for development

Twifo Praso (C/R), Oct. 17, GNA – Four area councils in the Twifo-Hemang-Lower-Denkyira District, are to receive a total of 600 million cedis to enhance their operations, from the Community Based Rural Development Project (CBRDP).

They are the Wamaso, Nyinase, Wawase and Agona area councils and they are to receive 150 million cedis each.

Mr Richard Karikari, Officer in charge of the CBRDP in Cape Coast, announced this when he opened a 4-day workshop on community development for chiefs, assembly members, opinion leaders and pastors at Twifo-Praso at the weekend.

The workshop was designed to build and strengthen the capacities of area councils and rural communities for effective delivery of services and management of resources.

Participants were taken through topics like ‘infrastructure for agricultural development, rural enterprise development and learning centres, infrastructure for human development and community based natural resources management’.

Mr Karikari appealed to them to take the workshop seriously to enable them to impart the knowledge acquired to people in their communities.
