Founding member donates chapel to Anyirawase Global Evangelical Church

Ho, May 18, GNA – Madam Mary Ameegbe, 81, a founding member of the Anyirawase Global Evangelical Church (GEC), on Tuesday presented a 500-seater chapel valued at 200 million cedis to the church at Awudome-Anyirawase, near Ho.

Reverend Alfred Kabotse, District Pastor, who presented the building to the head of the Ho Presbytery on behalf of Madam Ameegbe, said the donor took the decision to build the church after God spoke to her on her sick bed. He said though Madam Ameegbe was not working at the time, she used proceeds from lands she rented out and gifts from loved ones for the project.

Madam Ameegbe, who talked with difficulty, said she was dedicating the chapel to orphans and the destitute and requested leaders of the church to care for them in the church. Reverend Emmanuel Barrigah, Chairman of the Ho Presbytery of the GEC, received the chapel on behalf of the church leadership and thanked Madam Ameegbe for her goodwill.

He called on other well-meaning members of the church to contribute to the growth of the church and help maintain the chapel so that the efforts of Madam Ameegbe would not be in vain.
