Foundation distributes parcels

Kasoa, Aug 2, GNA – The Esther Korkor Charity Foundation has distributed parcels to some widows and orphans drawn from 17 assemblies of the Kasoa East branch of the Apostolic Church, Ghana.

The widows, numbering about 40 and two orphans, were also given snacks to climax 21 days of prayers and fasting organised by the church for the branch.

Mr Augustine Narh, the Executive Director of the Foundation, said the Foundation was set up in memory of his late daughter who three days to her death urged him to withdraw all her savings to build a church.

He said the Foundation had in the past assisted widows but its aim was to facilitate the formation of a widow support group that would encourage such recipients to meet to socialise and share experiences.

Madam Mary Anderson, 80, one of the recipients, thanked the Foundation for giving them a treat and expressed the hope that other philanthropists would follow the good example of the Foundation.
