Forty-two teachers report for posting in Fanteakwa District

Begoro (E/R), July 1, GNA- The District Director of Education for Fantaekwa District, Mr Stephen Andoh, has said 42 out of 45 teacher trainees being the first batch of trainees sponsored by the District Assembly have reported to the District Ghana Education Service for posting.

Addressing teachers in Begoro East and West Circuits on Monday, Mr Andoh said the remaining three teachers could not be traced.

He said the new teachers would beef up the teacher population and help raise education level in the district.

Mr Andoh expressed concern at the poor academic performance in public schools and appealed to the teachers to use instructional hours judiciously to benefit the pupils.

The chairman of Headteachers’ Association in Fanteakwa, Mr Daniel Ahunu, complained about the delay in the payment of allowances to teachers and said ”it dampens our spirit and hampers academic work in schools”.
