The Media Foundation for West African will from next month start monitoring forty media organisations on a day to day basis to establish the extent to which those media houses observe or violate the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) code of ethics.
The monitoring will take into consideration fifteen ethical principles in journalism.
These include accuracy, balance headlines and fairness.
It comes at a time when the Ghanaian media landscape is dominated by inaccuracies sensational headlines and lack of respect for people’s privacy.
The foundation’s Executive Director, Sulemana Braimah, made this known in Accra during a meeting to seek inputs from relevant stakeholders.
