Kumasi, Jan 2, GNA – Forty babies were delivered on New Year’s day in the Kumasi metropolis. Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) recorded the highest delivering of 24 babies out of which, 14 were males and 10 females. Madam Evelyn Boateng, Principal Nursing Officer on duty told the Ghana News Agency on Monday that all the babies and their mothers were doing well.
She advised mothers to keep their babies warm and refrain from bathing them. They should, rather clean them with warm water while they themselves live on protein diets. The Suntreso Hospital delivered six babies made up of three boys and three girls.
Miss Sophia Dompeh, a staff midwife at Manhyia District Hospital told the GNA that eight babies were delivered at the hospital on New Year’s day and that six of them were females with the boys being twins. The Old Tafo hospital and Kumasi South Hospitals at Kyirapatre recorded one delivery each. Both babies were males.
