Former NDC MP for Tamale North to be buried today

The late Former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale North Constituency, Alhaji Abubakari Sumani is expected be buried later today Sunday, August 13, 2017.

He died on Saturday evening at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where he was receiving treatment on admission after battling an unknown illness at age 71.

The body has since been transported to Tamale awaiting arrangements for the burial according to family sources.

As at Sunday morning, the family was still locked up in a meeting to decide on the actual time the burial will come off.

Meanwhile, tributes continue to pour in for the demised lawmaker who served the Tamale North Constituency between 2000 and 2012.

The late Alhaji Abubakari Sumani was a former Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under Jerry Rawlings’ democratic rule.

He was Chairman of the Public Procurement Authority under the watch of late President John Evans Atta Mills and a Board Chairman of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority
