Former MP to contest NPP Ashanti polls

Mr James Adusei Sarkodie, former Member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima-Nwabiagya, has announced his decision to contest the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional first Vice Chairman position.

He says he would work to forge a united front and re-position the party to recapture political power in 2016.

The NPP would have to get its acts together, to focus on the mission of achieving resounding electoral victory in the next general poll to end the suffering of the people.

Mr Sarkodie believes this is something that will require dedicated, strong and dynamic leadership at all levels. He said he is bringing these qualities on board to organise the party in the region, which is the epicentre of NPP support.

“We certainly cannot afford to disappoint Ghanaians because they would not forgive us if we do that,” he said.

He appealed to people who would put themselves up for the party’s internal elections to ensure a clean contest, free from acrimony and needless tension.
