Former Ivorian President Arrives

Accra, Oct 28, GNA – Former Ivorian President Konan Bedie arrived in Accra on Tuesday to consult with President John Agyekum Kufuor on the political situation in his country. Former President of Ivorian Supreme Court Ntemo Noel and the former Ivorian Ambassador to France, Mr Jean Marie Kacour Gevais, accompanied him.

The visit is at the invitation of President Kufuor, who is also Chairman of ECOWAS and the invitation is part of efforts to ensure peace and stability in Cote d’Ivoire.

President Kufuor has already held consultations with President Lauren Gbagbo and other faction leaders. At the airport to meet the former Ivorian President was Nana Akufo-Addo, Foreign Minister.
