  • By: Akua Oteng Amponsah

Sources within the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) have confirmed that former Chief Executive Officer of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), Edwin Provencal, has been detained and is currently under investigation.

According to the sources, Mr. Provencal was apprehended at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) on Monday, November 10, while attempting to board a flight to Maputo, Mozambique, reportedly without the necessary authorisation.

His arrest follows increased government scrutiny of state-owned enterprises (SOEs), particularly regarding accountability and transparency in their operations.

During his tenure at BOST, Mr. Provencal played a significant role in managing Ghana’s fuel supply and storage infrastructure.

EOCO officials stated that the interception was intended to safeguard the integrity of an ongoing investigation, though they declined to disclose further details about the case.
