Forestry Commission gets new board

Accra, Aug 4, GNA – Government on Friday appointed 11 people to serve on the Forestry Commission Board following the end of tenure of the former board.

A statement signed by Mr Kwamena Mafi Akwa, Acting Chief Director at the Ministry of Lands, Forestry and Mines named Mr E.O.Nsenkyire as the chairman.

The others are; Mr Samuel Afari-Dartey, representing Timber Trade and Industry, Mr Emmanuel Noah, of Wildlife Trade and Industry, Mr Kwaku Prah Ghartey, of Institute of Professional Foresters, Okyeame Ampadu-Agyei, representative of NGO’s in Forest and Wildlife Management. The rest are; Alhaji Hamidu I. Baryeh of Lands Commission, Osahene Kwaku Aterkyi II, Mr K Wireko-Brobby both of the National House of Chiefs, Mr Asiedu Mensah, Member of Parliament, Ms. Dorcas Amoah and Mr John Otoo, Chief Executive, Forestry Commission.

The appointments take immediate effect, the statement added.
