Foreign minister leaves for NAM conference

Accra, July 28, GNA – Mr Akwasi Osei-Adjei, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and NEPAD, has left Accra for Tehran, Iran, at the head of Ghana’s delegation to the Ministerial Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) taking place from July 27-30. A release issued by the Ministry, said the conference was expected to review the general international situation, including issues of peace and security, and would focus attention on prevailing economic conditions such as the energy and food crises.

It said the Foreign Minister, who is accompanied by a team of private business officials, would also follow up on matters of bilateral economic interests between Ghana and Iran.

From Iran, Mr Osei-Adjei would visit Morocco and later join President John Agyekum Kufuor at the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games.
