Foreign Minister leaves for Fact finding Mission

Accra, April 15, GNA – The Minister of Foreign Affairs Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo left Accra on Thursday morning at the head of a 12-member delegation for Guinea on a two-day fact finding mission to the Mano River Union Countries.

Also on the trip was Mr. Hanf Dahlgren Co-chairman on the International Contact Group on Liberia (ICGL) and the Foreign Minister of Sweden Nana Akufo-Addo, Chairman on the ICGL) is expected to meet with all stakeholders in the political development of the Mano River States, comprising Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia.

The talk with the stakeholders, who would include ruling Government, political parties and peacekeeping mission, would be aimed towards bringing out a better understanding of the political situation within the Union.

The mission precedes an ICGL meeting to be held in May.

The Minister is expected to return on Saturday.

Mr. Ken Kaanda, Chief of Protocol and official of the Ministry saw Nana Akufo-Addo off at the airport.
