The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has honoured five Ghanaians with diplomatic passports for their remarkable contributions to promoting the country’s image on the global stage.
The announcement came on Wednesday, September 17, during the launch of the 2025 Diaspora Summit in Accra, organised by the Office of the President – Diaspora Affairs in partnership with the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
The recipients are travel content creator Wode Maya (Berthold Kobby Winkler Ackon), Grammy-nominated musician Rocky Dawuni, broadcaster and entrepreneur Anita Erskine, renowned artist Ibrahim Mahama, and British-Ghanaian entrepreneur Dentaa Amoateng MBE.
Mr. Ablakwa explained that the honour was granted under the authority of NLCD 155 and praised the awardees for consistently raising Ghana’s profile abroad. “Congratulations; keep bringing Ghana renown,” he said in a Facebook post.
Each honouree has made a unique mark globally: Wode Maya has built a popular YouTube platform showcasing African destinations and entrepreneurship; Rocky Dawuni has used music and activism to champion peace and environmental causes; Anita Erskine is a prominent voice for women’s empowerment; Ibrahim Mahama is celebrated for his internationally acclaimed art installations; and Dentaa Amoateng, founder of the GUBA Awards, has strengthened ties between Ghana and its diaspora.
