Foreign Heads of State, dignitaries call on President Mills

Accra, Jan. 7, GNA – Heads of State, dignitaries and delegations who attended the inauguration of President John Evans Atta Mills on Wednesday at the Independence Square in Accra called on him at the Accra International Conference Centre shortly after the ceremony.

They included President Ernest Bai Koroma of Sierra Leone, Junichiro Koizumi, former Prime Minister of Japan, the Chairman of Africa Union Commission, Jean Ping, as well as delegations from Morocco and the United State of America delegation.

The rest are Prime Minister of Niger, Seini Oumarou; President of Cote d’Ivoire Mr. Laurent Gbagbo, Vice President of Liberia, Joseph Boakai. The Heads of State commended President Mills for the electoral victory and the smooth transitional process and pledged their commitment to help

deepen democracy on the African continent. Speaking to Ghana News Agency after the closed door meeting, Mr. Mahama Ayariga, Presidential Spokesman, said President Atta Mills discussed issues based on strengthening bilateral relations with the various countries.

Mr. Ayariga said some of the foreign leaders extended an invitation to President Atta Mills to visit their respective countries.
