Ford saga: Mahama must submit himself to lie detector – Bempah

The Communications Director for the National Democratic Party (NDP) and an aspiring member of parliament for Asante Akim Agogo, Ernest Owusu Bempah, has challenged President John Dramani Mahama to submit himself to a lie detector if he believes he did not accept the Ford gift as a bribe.

Speaking on Atinka AM Drive with Kaakyere Ofori Ayim Thursday , Ernest Owusu Bempah stated that President Mahama has reduced the leadership of the presidency to
the lowest level, adding that the president should go to the British High Commission to take a lie detector test to prove his innocence.

According to Owusu Bempah, the President has violated some laws and that accepting a gift from a contractor can be equated to the acceptance of bribe. He pointed out that a President taking a car and paying duty on it is nothing to write home about.

He advised all Ghanaian contractors to sit up and go on a demonstration to express their disagreement over government’s decision to award contracts to foreigners.
