Football Match To Foster Healthy Relations Among FM Stations Organised

The Kumasi Sports Stadium yesterday registered one of the biggest spectator turn-out in recent memory in a fun charity gala match by the four local FM Radio Stations in Kumasi. They are the State-owned Garden City Radio, OTEC FM, KAPITAL Radio and Mercury Radio. The match was organised to ease what is described in certain quarters as the growing tension between the stations and to foster healthy competition and friendship. According to our correspondent, the response of soccer-loving fans to the match was so overwhelming that the 80 thousand capacity stadium could not contain them. Thousands who could not gain entry returned home highly disappointed to listen to commentary on the match run by three of the four stations. On the match itself, KAPITAL Radio beat Mercury by three goals to two on penalties while Garden City Radio drew nil-nil with OTEC-FM. End
