Adaklu Dzakpo (V/R), June 27, GNA – Foodstuffs belonging to farmers at Adaklu Dzakpo in the Adaklu Anyigbe District are getting rotten due to the washing away of a wooden bridge over River Kalakpa that has overflowed its banks following recent rains.
The flood is making it difficult for vehicles to cart foodstuffs from the area to marketing centres.
Narrating their plight to the GNA in an interview at the banks of the river on Monday, Togbe Agormeha III, chief of the village which is near the Kalakpa Game Reserve, said his people had to wade in the water to the bank to board vehicles to Ho.
“Public health nurses who have been visiting the community can no longer make the trip. What shall we do if anybody falls sick or there is an epidemic”, he said.
“Electioneering campaign promises to build a bridge over the river have not been fulfilled I am appealing to the government as a matter of urgency to come over to Macedonia and save us”, Togbe Agormeha pleaded. Mr Emmanuel Golo, a driver plying the Ho/Dzakpo road said he spent three days at the banks of the river with a truckload of foodstuffs and that it was by divine intervention that enabled him cross the river to Ho.
