Food vendors attend workshop

Gomoa Dawurampong (C/R), May 26, GNA – About 500 members of the Ghana Traditional Caterers Association (GTCA), made up of food vendors and drinking bar operators drawn from Dawurampong and surrounding villages in the Gomoa district have attended a two-day workshop on capacity building at Dawurampong.

The workshop, which was under the theme: “Good food for health progress”, discussed environmental sanitation, food and nutrition, personal hygiene and business management.

Addressing the participants, Nana Adoko Okumain IV, Mankrado of Dawurampong, urged them to take serious notes in order to improve on their services. “A dirty woman or man cannot cook a clean food,” he added.

Mr Ken Pepra Dwomo-Mensah, Project co-ordinator of GTCA, advised them to desist from using non-prescribed colouring to their food since that could result in cancer and related diseases. Nana Joseph Aidoo, Assembly member for the area, called on participants to honour their tax obligations promptly to enable the district assembly meet its revenue target in order to undertake more development projects.
