Food and Drugs Board nabs fake drug dealer in Upper East

Bolgatanga, July 27, GNA – The Food and Drugs Board (FDB), with the assistance of the police, have arrested one Issah Abdul-Rauf, alleged to be a retailer of fake anti-malaria drugs in the Bolgatanga Municipality.

A statement issued and signed by the Acting Zonal Officer of the FDB, Mr Zakariah Braimah, said the FDB recently engaged in sampling and doing quality analysis on anti-malaria drugs.

This revealed the sale of fake Fansider in certain chemical shops and investigations established that the said fake anti-malaria drug was retailed in the Municipality by a drug peddler.

The statement cautioned distributors and retailers to be careful about the supply and sale of fake and appealed to the public not to hesitate to inform the FDB about individuals or group of people who are found to be associated with the sale and distribution of fake drugs.
