Fomena NPP re-elects Nana Abu Bonsrah

Fomena (Ash), May 20, GNA – Nana Abu Bonsrah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Fomena was on Sunday was re-elected to contest the upcoming parliamentary election on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). His nomination was by popular acclamation by 54 out of 56 constituency executives and polling station chairmen who voted at the primaries supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC) at Fomena in the Adansi North District in Ashanti.

In his acceptance speech, Nana Abu Bonsrah thanked Party executives and the delegates for re-electing him and pledged he will not fail them. He said during the one-and-half years that he served as MP for the area, he provided telecommunication networks, schools, water and rehabilitated roads in the constituency.

“I am for development. That is my main objective,” he said and called for unity, peace and understanding in the area. Mr Robert Yaw Amankwah, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, expressed regret about reported unrests in Bekwai in which some people were injured as a result of protests emanating from the Party’s primaries.

He said a total of 22 primaries had been held so far in the Region and nobody had raised any complaints, meaning they process had been fair and transparent.

Mr Amankwah appealed to the delegates to work harder to ensure victory for the NPP in the general election. “Do not allow any politician to come and convince you”.
