Mr Kingsley Atta Boafo, Member of Parliament (MP) for Fomena has been the first casualty in the New Patriotic Party parliamentary primaries in the Ashanti region.
He was beaten by Mr Andrew Amoako Asiama, who had 125 votes as against 56 by the MP.
Another contender, Mr Desmond Afoakwa, had 47 votes while Nana Abu Bonsra polled 34 votes.
