Focus on your education and be cautious of friendships and peer groups for a better future – SHS Freshers Advised

The Dormaa Central Municipal Education Director, Rev. Father Kingsley Dwamena Asante, has advised students who have recently commenced their secondary education to remain focused on the primary purpose of their enrollment in Senior High Schools. He urged them to cultivate a positive learning attitude and to distance themselves from peers who may negatively influence their lives as they embark on this new educational journey.

He emphasized the importance of concentrating on their academic pursuits, as this will lay a solid foundation for a future filled with opportunities and success. Furthermore, he stressed the need for students to exercise caution and discernment when forming friendships and associating with various peer groups reiterating that riendships can significantly impact one’s academic journey and personal development, both positively and negatively.

Rev. Father Kingsley Dwamena Asante also appealed to parents to continue providing essential support to their children as they commence their secondary education.

Despite the government’s Free Senior High School initiative, this support alone may not suffice for parents to completely withdraw their assistance. He encouraged parents to offer necessary financial aid and ensure that other basic needs are met to complement the government’s efforts in enhancing educational outcomes.

He again urged parents and guardians to strengthen their relationships with their children, attentively listen to their concerns, and provide the best advice to help shape their lives as they embark on their new academic journey.
