Focal persons on Human Rights attend school at Akwatia

Akwatia, Aug. 23, GNA – Twenty persons have been trained to help promote human rights issues in Akwatia in the Eastern Region.

The training programme was organized by Projects Abroad Human Rights, a Non Governmental Organization based in Accra.

The participants were taken through all the 30 basic human rights contained in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted at the United Nations headquarters about 60 years ago.

The rights include the right to life, freedom of expression, the right to education and the right to liberty.

The participants were also taken through the rights of children and how it could be protected and the responsibility that the citizenry had to abide by in their demand for the respect of their basic rights.
