Focal persons at Akwatia schooled on Human Rights issues

Akwatia, Aug. 23, GNA – Twenty persons have been trained to help promote human rights issues at Akwatia in the Eastern Region. Projects Abroad Human Rights, a Non Governmental Organization based in Accra organised the training on Sunday. The participants were taken through all the 30 basic human rights contained in the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights which was adopted 60 years ago. The Declaration includes the right to life, freedom of expression, the right to education and the right to liberty. The participants were also educated on children rights, how they could be protected and the responsibilities that the citizenry had to abide by in their demand for the respect of their basic rights.
