Flush out illegal bar operators – Association

Kade (E/R), Sept. 16, GNA – Mr Benette Assinor, Chairman of Eastern Region Drinking Bar Operators Association, has called on the government to empower the organisation to prevent unregistered operators in the business.

Speaking to newsmen at Kade on Tuesday, he said many unregistered operators “who do not even pay their levies and taxes to assemblies and government have infiltrated the business”.

He said the Association ensures that its members fulfil their tax obligations, adding that, “but they derive nothing from the business because unregistered people are competing with them”.

Mr Assinor appealed to the government through the District Assemblies and other relevant agencies to assist the Association to flush out illegal operators. 16 Sept 03
