Floods force OIC to close down

Sekondi, June 10, GNA- Educational activities have been suspended indefinitely at the Takoradi Opportunities Industrialisation Centre (OIC) due to flooding of the school.

This was as a result of a 12-hour downpour on Thursday at Sekondi. Briefing the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at the school premises, Mr. Samuel K. Thompson, Director of OIC said a poor drainage system around the school accounted for the floods.

He said the management of the school was compelled to send back all the students home because all the classrooms and parts of the administration block were flooded.

Mr. Thompson said the students would be re-called if the situation improved.

In another development the area around Effia Nkwanta Hospital, Anaji, Namibia, West Tanokrom, Ekuasi and Nkotompo were also flooded.
