Floods displace 700 people in Tumu

Tumu (U/W), Sept. 25, GNA – More than 228 houses in the Sisala district in the Upper West region have collapsed and 737 people displaced as a result of recent heavy rains in the Northern part of the country.

In addition, about 126 farms have also been destroyed.. Mr Robert Wavei, the Sisala District Chief Executive made this known at Tumu on Friday at an emergency executive committee meeting of the assembly.

He appealed to members of the assembly to take personal interest in compiling data on the effects of the floods in their communities to enable the national disaster management organisation (NADMO) to come to their aid
