Flooding destroys three bridges in the Tain Constituency

Accra, July 20, GNA- Mr. Ibrahim Ahmed, Member of Parliament for Tain, said three bridges on Nyinpini River that connected the Tain district to its neighbouring districts were washed away when the river recently overflowed its banks.

He said this in a statement in Parliament on Tuesday.

Mr. Ahmed said this problem had strangulated economic activities and transportation.

He noted that if urgent measures were not taken it would delay the completion of the Bui Dam project since workers and materials could not be transported to the site through the Tain district.

He therefore called on the Ministry of Roads and Highways to take urgent steps to solve the problem.
