Five Senior High Schools receive computers from COCOBOD

Wa, Jan 15, GNA- The Ghana COCOBOD on Tuesday presented 25 computers and accessories with five printers at a total cost of Gh.34,000 cedis to five Senior High Schools in the Upper West Region.

The recipient schools are Wa Islamic Senior High, St. Francis Girls’ Senior High, Lawra Senior High and Wa Technical Institute. Receiving the computers on behalf of the various schools at Wa, Mr. Cletus Paga, Upper West Regional Director of Education said the computers would help the schools to cope up with the current educational reforms and also help the students to be abreast with trends in the world.

He promised to periodically monitor recipient schools to find out the impact of the computers on their horizon and appealed to the various heads to make maximum use of the computers.

Mr. Lucius Zaukuu, Audit Manager of COCOBOD who presented the computers said the donation was part of their social responsibilities in the country, but cautioned Heads against putting the computers in their homes, away from the reach of students who were supposed to benefit from them.

“It is when you make good use of these ones that we can be encouraged to help other schools in the country,” he said.
