Mpraeso, Oct. 31, GNA – Five out of 79 schools that registered for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), in the Kwahu South and East Districts scored zero percent.
They are made up of 116 candidates including 48 girls. However, 12 schools in the two districts obtained 100 percent passes with 15 boys obtaining aggregate six. The Kwahu South District Director of Education, Mr Abraham Adjetey Sowah, disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency at Mpraeso. He said the two districts obtained a total of 50.69 percent pass in the BECE this year as against 46.61 percent last year while 49.32 percent failed this year as against 53.39 percent last year. Mr Sowah, also the Acting District Director of Education for Kwahu East, advised parents to co-operate with the teachers and take interest in their children’s education.
He said that would encourage the children to study hard to pass their examination to enable them to further their education.
