Five persons knocked down by a Pick-up

Nkoranza (B/A), Dec. 12, GNA – Five people were on Saturday knocked down by a Nissan Pick-Up when they were standing behind a gutter at the center of Nkoranza town in the Brong-Ahafo Region.

The victims, three females including teenager and two men who were seriously injured and were rushed to the local St. Theresa’s Hospital were said to be in critical conditions. Their names could not be immediately known.

An eye-witness at the scene of the accident told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the red pick-up with Registration Number GW 69987 T was running at top speed when it skidded off the road, jumped over a gutter and knocked down the victims.

Police confirmed the accident and said they were looking out for the driver who bolted soon after the accident, adding, “we have sent our men to the hospital to check the conditions of the victims. “We are preparing to tow the vehicle to the police station as soon as possible”, the police added.
